What is Regulation D?
Reg D is a federal regulation that limits the number of certain transactions that First Nebraska Educators Credit Union may allow a member to make from a share (savings) account.
Monthly Limits for Federally Regulated Transactions
Each month, you are allowed any combination of six (6) Federally Regulated transactions from savings. After six (6) per month, a $1.00 fee will be applied for each additional transaction.
Strategies for Managing Transaction Limits
- Do not authorize anyone to make ACH withdrawals from your savings account. Instead, set up the withdrawal from your checking account which has unlimited ACH withdrawals.
- Set up an Overdraft Protection Line of Credit* as the primary overdraft source. Transfers from Overdraft Protection are not regulated.
- Balance your checking account periodically. This will help limit the number of automatic transfers from your savings account. (FREE Online Banking available.)
- Plan ahead to either stop by or mail in your transfer request. These two types of transfers are not limited.
- Plan ahead and make one larger transfer instead of several small transfers. Each regulated transfer counts as one transaction, no matter what the size.
*Credit qualifications apply.
